Recommended Reading

The Alchemist, by Paolo Coelho.
Simply a beautiful book that resonates strongly with how I experience life. It's a quick read - give yourself a gift and read it!

Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing, by Caroline Myss, Ph.D.
An amazing discussion of the chakra system, based on a medical intuitive's years of experience. This book made a huge impact on my understanding of how the lives we lead affect the health of our chakras - and how the health of our chakras affects our lives.

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment, by Eckhart Tolle.
How to gain a different perspective - and not complicate things so much. It's all so much simpler than we make it...

Traditional Reiki for Our Times: Practical Methods for Personal and Planetary Healing, by Amy Z. Rowland.
An excellent Reiki primer, with good photographs and illustrations, as well as a thoughtful discussion of what Reiki is and how to practice this gentle healing art in a loving and giving manner.

Essential Reiki: A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art, by Diane Stein.
One of the basic texts for Reiki, and one of the few that includes not only the hand positions, but also the Reiki symbols.

Important Note:  Reading a Reiki text does not take the place of receiving proper training! It is important for the Reiki practitioner to have thorough, in-person (not online) training and attunement. Otherwise, each session could be an unhealthy experience for both the practitioner and the recipient.

Reiki News Magazine
Always chock-full of interesting articles about Reiki, healing, and living.
